Payroll Specialist

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Payroll Manager with accurate and timely processing of payroll involving multi-state personnel.

The successful candidate will have solid experience in working with both hourly and salary payroll data with demonstrated ability to analyze and maintain data. This candidate will work closely with Management across Finance, HR, and Program leaders to ensure all payroll functions are handled efficiently and accurately. This position requires well established organizational skills, a high level of motivation and energy, excellent communication, and preference for working in a dynamic, fast-paced, ever changing work environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a high-degree of confidentiality relative to personal data, salary data and associate benefits information maintained in the HRIS system
  • Maintaining payroll information by collating, calculating and entering data
  • Assisting with payroll audits to ensure accuracy in payroll processing
  • Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions and saving deductions
  • Providing payroll information by answering questions and requests
  • Researching  issues and promptly resolving associate requests and inquiries
  • Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures.
    Processing and issuing W-2 forms to employees
  • Interacting closely with other departments within Human Resources in order to complete necessary paperwork required for payroll processing
  • Assisting with employment verification
  • Assuming additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

Minimum 2 years advanced business education and/or 2 – 5 years of experience in any of the following: payroll, accounting, or human resources.

Strong analytical, high attention to detail, excellent troubleshooting skills, and creative problem solving skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks, effectively.

Perform responsibilities with Honesty and Integrity with Discretion.

COVID vaccination required.

Demonstrated proficiency in Payroll & HRIS software and other databases.

Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Proficient in handling office equipment (faxes, copiers, scanners).
