Behavioral Health Worker – Therapeutic Nursery
At Children’s Crisis Treatment Center (CCTC), our staff is dedicated to addressing the impact of childhood traumatic events and other challenges. The Behavioral Health Worker will support and follow through with treatment team recommendations in a faced paced environment and meet the needs of the children ages 2 1/2-5 and their families presenting with crisis and behavioral health issues in a trauma-informed manner.
Summary of Essential Functions:
- Implement established curriculum and treatment plans within the structured milieu of the Therapeutic Nursery
- Collaborate with clinicians and psychiatrist regarding implementation of treatment plans for individual children based on their specific needs, as recommended in biopsychosocial evaluations and treatment review meetings
- Assist in implementing developmentally based activity plans for assigned group (s. Complete written plan weekly and submit copy to TN Director
- Collaborate regarding implementation of treatment plans and curriculum during regular program planning meetings with fellow Behavioral Health Worker
- Meet weekly with treatment team to review treatment plan progress of individual children. Participate in treatment planning meetings, discharge planning, and other interagency meetings as needed
- Write daily progress notes; complete CBCLs on each child as scheduled
- Assist in facilitating activities of undergraduate interns and volunteers. Assess TSS Trainees
- Maintain group room and other play areas to provide an ordered, safe and therapeutic environment at all times
- Attend in-service and training meetings
- Assume other duties assigned by Supervisor
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in an area of behavioral/mental health services or related field and a minimum of one-year direct care experience with children/adolescents.
OR
Bachelor’s degree PLUS one (1) year verified full-time paid experience working in direct care with children/adolescents.
