Peer Specialist
CCTC is seeking a Peer Specialist to join our Caregiver Services department to provide support services to individuals and families seeking/participating in parenting support services with the goal of increasing caregivers’ access to and engagement in behavioral health services.
Responsibilities include;
- Co-facilitate parenting groups under guidance of lead facilitator
- Attend and participate in all initial and continuous education/training opportunities
- Support the management of records/quality assurance/quality improvement/outcome measurement and other data related to CCTC’s Parent/Caregiver Services
- Connect families to other CCTC services and/or community resources that may benefit the family
- Establish rapport and supportive relationships with individuals and caregivers of children with behavioral health needs, as well as with partner agencies
- Participate in agency-wide committee meetings as assigned such as Caring Families of CCTC
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Lived experience accessing/participating in children’s behavior health services and navigating behavioral health system.
Excellent administrative, organizational and communication skills including an ability to effectively interact with a wide array of audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills including ability to employ thoughtfulness, diplomacy, sensitivity and good judgment when working with vulnerable populations.
Flexible work schedule required, including some evenings and off-site work.
Training and/or experience providing peer support or other similar services a plus.
