Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
At Children’s Crisis Treatment Center (CCTC), our staff is dedicated to addressing the impact of childhood traumatic events and other challenges. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will serve the health care needs of children presenting with crisis and behavioral health issues in a trauma-informed manner.
Responsibilities include;
- Conducting psychiatric client evaluations to determine medication needs
- Providing medication management, monitoring progress and making necessary changes to client’s medications
- Documenting evaluations and interactions with clients in the Carelogic (EMR)
- Ensuring psychiatric evaluations and medication management documentation meet all stakeholder, payor and regulatory expectations and include clinically appropriate diagnoses and recommendations
- Maintaining all required or requested client / unit documentation (medication notes, mental status forms, entitlement forms, medical information reports, incident reports, etc.) of clients on case load
- Meeting once a week, or as needed, with Medical Director to review all new clients during supervision
- Participating in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings to review client services, progress, and develop coordinated treatment plans
- Ensuring timely and effective communication with clients, families, providers, caseworkers, advocates and other medical professionals involved in clients care
- Ensuring compliance to all internal and external regulations, policies and procedures
- Performing special projects as assigned
Requirements
Master’s degree in nursing with a focus on psychiatric mental health.
Current and valid license in the state of Pennsylvania as a Registered Nurse.
Psychiatric certificate required.
Must have previous experience working with Children.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Creative problem solving skills.
Excellent clinical nursing skills including assessment.
Knowledge of behavioral health systems, community resources.
Ability to work independently, and be flexible/adaptive in handling changing priorities.
Bilingual preferred.
Covid-19 vaccination required.
